December 13th: Photo-a-Day Challenge

Theme: a house.

Here is a before and after shot from the entry of our house. When we bought it, I couldn’t see beyond the spider webs, horrific flooring and cabin-like orange cedar and pine everywhere I looked. My husband, however, saw something much more promising. After many months of hard work, sacrifice beyond belief, and the generous help from so many people, we moved into our beautiful home!

December 12th: Photo-a-Day Challenge

Theme: Container

Today’s theme was perfect, as I received a special “Secret Santa” gift today, that just happens to be a container! It is a beautiful box with a peacock feather on the outside (I love peacocks!) and a shell texture inside. Check it out!

December 10th: Photo-a-Day Challenge

Theme: Handwriting.

I was hunting all around for my letters from the tooth fairy for today’s post. I have one that is from the littlest fairy. In her tiny writing on steno notebook paper, she wrote about how she nearly broke her wing because of my messy room, and how I almost rolled over on her. She would always write how proud my dad was, and how proud my mom would be, of my sisters and I. I’m determined to find them (although they may still be in California), but I will post a few when I do find them.

In the meantime, here’s a special note from my dad. He wrote this message on the inside cover of a Bible that he gave Ryan and I on our wedding day.

December 7th: Photo-a-Day Challenge

Theme: Candy Cane

No Candy canes in the Girvan household yet, but plenty of other goodies! I thought I was going to have to get really creative, but then remembered this little gem! Whew!

December 6th: Photo-a-Day Challenge

Theme: Eyes

Lucy, my shih tzu, was supposed to be my model for this one, but after coming home to a garbage can that had been demolished by her, I changed my mind. Lucy has had a tendency of breaking into the garbage lately. We even had to buy child locks for the cupboards! So her face is a stinky mess and I also found that she got into the raw chicken packaging (yikes!), so I didn’t want to put any extra modeling stress on her in case she isn’t feeling well. I actually should have gotten the picture of her eyes peering at me from under the chair as I cleaned up the mess, but I was a little distracted! So, this little owl will have to do for today! Wish us luck for an uneventful night with little Lucy tonight!

December 5th: Photo-a-Day Challenge

Today’s theme is “you”. And since I couldn’t take a picture of all of “you”, I had to interpret it as “me”, although maybe the “me” in the mirror could somehow be considered “you”? Confused? It’s ok, so am I…

December 4th: Photo-a-Day Challenge

I love fabric, so I had fun with today’s theme. This is a tutu and some sheer tulle fabric from my prop stash 🙂
If you haven’t started, it’s not too late! See the list of December themes posted here!
